Lead the Culinary Excellence of a Prestigious 5-Star Hotel in Juba!
Position: Executive Chef
Location: Juba, South Sudan
Salary: $4,000 – $5,000 per month
Contract Type: Single Status
One of the most esteemed 5-star hotels in East Africa, is seeking a highly experienced Executive Chef to oversee and enhance our culinary operations. We are looking for a visionary leader who is passionate about fine dining, menu innovation, and maintaining world-class kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Culinary Leadership & Team Organization
Organize and manage the culinary team to ensure superior food quality and service standards.
Lead and inspire a high-performing team, promoting professionalism and teamwork.
Ensure budgeted payroll expenses and cost targets are met.
✅ Menu Development & Innovation
Lead the preparation of all outlet menus, ensuring they align with the overall hotel strategy.
Create signature dishes and seasonal offerings to enhance the guest dining experience.
Continuously monitor market trends and customer preferences to introduce innovative dishes.
✅ Operational Excellence & Cost Management
Maintain exceptional kitchen sanitation, hygiene, and food safety in line with international standards.
Oversee kitchen efficiency by reducing waste, optimizing food inventory, and controlling costs.
Ensure that all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
✅ Training & Staff Development
Recruit, train, and develop culinary professionals, ensuring they uphold the highest standards.
Conduct regular training sessions on cooking techniques, sanitation, and service standards.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and career growth within the team.
✅ Banquet & Outdoor Catering Leadership
Oversee and execute banquets, receptions, and large-scale events with efficiency and precision.
Ensure seamless coordination between kitchen staff and event planners to deliver flawless experiences.
✅ Collaboration & Interdepartmental Coordination
Work closely with the General Manager and other hotel departments to ensure a smooth operation.
Maintain an effective working relationship with suppliers, F&B teams, and other key stakeholders.
✅ Guest Engagement & Public Relations
Actively engage with guests, seeking feedback and ensuring an exceptional dining experience.
Participate in high-profile hospitality promotional events and PR activities.
✅ Health & Safety Compliance
Ensure compliance with international food safety, health, and hygiene standards.
Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation.
Requirements:
✔ Experience:
10-12 years of experience in multi-outlet kitchens, with at least 2-3 years in a senior leadership role within a luxury hotel environment.
Proven track record in menu engineering, fine dining, and banquet operations.
✔ Education:
Postgraduate degree and/or Hotel Management School/Apprenticeship preferred.
✔ Skills & Expertise:
Strong culinary creativity, menu development, and plating expertise.
Proficiency in food safety, sanitation regulations, and cost control.
Experience in staff training, leadership, and kitchen workflow management.
Ability to analyze trends and create marketable, innovative dishes.
✔ Personal Attributes:
Passionate, dynamic, and results-driven.
A strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with guest interactions and public relations events.
✔ Languages:
Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
✔ Preferred Candidate:
European professional with single status.
