Job Description
Finance Director – Expat / Local Expat (Lubumbashi, DRC)
Industry: Agri & FMCG
Location: Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
Reporting to: Executive Committee (ExCom) Lead
About the Role:
The Finance Group is seeking an experienced Finance Director to oversee all financial and accounting operations of the company, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth while maintaining compliance with local and international regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the Agri & FMCG sectors, with expertise in financial reporting, treasury management, ERP implementation, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Strategy:
Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including cost, revenue, and cash flow analysis.
Provide strategic financial guidance to leadership, identifying risks and opportunities.
Participate in company-wide strategic planning with financial forecasting and budgeting.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with OHADA, local tax laws, and international financial regulations.
Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns and regulatory reports.
Implement and maintain financial control policies in line with the company’s standards and legal requirements.
Treasury & Investment Management:
Manage treasury operations, optimizing fund investments to maximize returns and minimize risks.
Maintain strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
ERP & Financial Systems:
Lead the implementation and upgrade of ERP (Finance Module) for scalability across legal entities.
Drive real-time financial reporting and dashboard publishing for decision-making.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination:
Supervise the finance team, including the Financial Controller, Treasurer, and FP&A Manager.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Finance/MBA preferred).
Experience: 15-20 years in senior finance roles within Agri & FMCG, with exposure to Africa.
Technical Skills:
Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and treasury management.
Advanced ERP (implementation & management) and financial reporting tools.
Knowledge of OHADA accounting standards is essential.
Language: Fluency in French or Swahili is mandatory (English proficiency required).
